Saint Clare of Assisi Watercolor | Fine art Print

from $15.00

Fine art print of Haley Dessauer’s original watercolor painting depicting Saint Clare of Assisi with a monstrance.

In the year 1240, the Saracen soldiers invaded San Damiano in Assisi where Saint Clare and her religious sisters resided. Despite being fairly ill at the time of the invasion, Saint Clare, fully trusting in the Lord, went to the tabernacle and reverently picked up the ciborium. She then carried Our Lord in the Sacred Host out to the Saracens just as they were scaling the walls of the convent. Then, prostrating herself on the ground, she placed the ciborium in front of her, confident that the Lord would take care of her and her sisters. The Saracens, seized with fear, immediately retreated.

In this time of Eucharistic Revival, let us be like Saint Clare and completely surrender ourselves to Christ. Let us be inspired by Saint Clare, who, by fully trusting in Christ’s words at the Last Supper, portrayed faith the size of a mustard seed in a moment when everyone else was overcome with fear. May we too, rest in the sweet mystery of Christ’s presence in the Eucharist and be transformed. Saint Clare of Assisi, pray for us!

This nursery-styled Saint Clare of Assisi watercolor painting was created with newly baptized little ones in mind. Decorate your Catholic nursery or give the gift of sacred art for baptisms, first communions, confirmations, etc.
